This is a beautiful piece of art. To be honest, with the current look once you finish, i would insist that it was a 3D render rather than hand drawn..it really is that damn good..

The leather looks awesome, right down to the worn areas. I am impressed.

I'm glad to hear your thumb is doing better. I accidentally took the skin off the top of the first knuckles of my index through ring fingers on my right hand last week (only the middle finger has been a pain). It looked like I took a rat tail file to it and now when I bend my finger the wound cracks. It's crimped my style a bit but not as bad as what you did. Ouch.

The painting looks great. The length of the arms is a bit off, they are too short. The farther arm could be bent away from the camera accounting for it's length, but the one in front needs to be longer, the elbow usually is a bit higher than the belly button, and the fingertips usually hit about mid thigh.
But again.. the painting looks really really good.

Awesome. I wish I could paint. I can see what each of my characters looks like in my head but I could never translate that into a drawing.

Thanks for all the feedback guys! The thumb is doing much better I'm happy to say and it's been great to be able to get back to this project.

@DevinNight, good eye. Your comment about the proportions of the arms was spot on. However I just sketched a few quick lines to give me an idea of where I wanted the arms to be, I'll go in and make the needed revisions once I start in on painting them. But I'm grateful for your pointing this out, it's always easier if you get the proportions right before you apply the paint. I'll throw another update up once I've gotten a little further along.

    Cheers,

Just grand! I love where its going and thanks for posting this up. The step by step creation is really fascinating. The textures are realistic and flow nice with the picture. You are in the groove!

hotdog, really nice texture -- just gotta say the right side eye looks a bit off, It would help if she was looking one direction or something. other then that its looking really good so far.
