i'd agree, the fores looks great, but it shouldn't skirt the mts, i needs to flow into them.
IMHO there should be parts of the forests that cant be seen behind the mountain peaks - especially in the lower part of the map.
The mountains themselves are absolutely great, btw

Like I said, those forest were done as tests for style and are in no way positioned or shaped as they will be when finalised.
Feedback has ben skewed towards the negative and to be honest that's what I expected. I tried several times to adjust them to something more pleasing but nothing seemed right. In the end I decided to just post them as they were to get opinions. They would possibly look better against my more usual style of mountains but at the moment I think it's more of a "back to the drawing board" situation.

I really like the border and the mountains and hope you keep going with them! Yea, the forests may be a bit off but maybe it is because the mountains have a strong light source from the east while the forests cast a bit of shadow to their south east
