    Wip World Development Sketchbook

    Long time lurker here.
This thread is going to become home to the numerous map sketches and studies I produce regularly (in bits and pieces) while pushing through the development of a full world map for one of my writing projects. Hopefully this will serve as a personal digital record. To start, I'll just drop a small sketch produced during a tiresome meeting today at work that shows a tiny northern portion of Fifth Earth, Ordalium and its directly neighboring land.

    Hand-draw with ballpoint pen.
    15 minutes.

Wow, that's pretty good, especially for only 15 minutes work.

Sorry for being away for so long! I will soon start uploading some other sketches I've compiled over the last few months now that I have access to a scanner again. This is a quick map I put together yesterday--took about 3-4 hours because I also mapped out linguistic patterns/proto language usage over the land as well as played around with land & water routes (neither of which are shown here!). This map will serve as a foundation for a more complete map in the future. I really want to hand-draw all my elements, if not the entire map, but starting it digitally allowed me freedom to name, rename, and wiggle things around.
