Thread: September/October 2014 Lite Challenge: Lake of Tears

    I like the ruins and the terrains are gorgeous. There something about the cities though... It seems to be too geometric, I think. I don't exactly know, it doesn't match the rest of the map as the drowned cities or ruins does. I'm not really helping, sorry .
    Are you planning to put roads or something similar?

    Thanks Ilanthar i kinda see what your mean with the cities, i'll try to work on that point but not sure how i'll deal with that yet!
    For roads i'll add a few ones, i was thinking about using small red dots with a transparency set to soften light to represent the roads.

    As beautiful as this map is, I think the thing I like the most for some reason are your labels - they look gorgeous!

    Thanks! labels have for long been my weak point so that means a lot

    A few more labels and some borders on the map, almost finish now. I'm at the point where you try lot of things on tiny details but the map always look the same

    This project really seems to conform to the contest prompt especially well. You really get a sense of this water being the central focus of the map, and placing cities in the water itself - those underwater ruins - also provides a role for the water in the whole history and culture of the place. Pretty cool.
