    Wip Anna Maria Port City

Went to Anna Maria Island by Tampa Bay, Florida for vacation, while there I drew the coastline of the area. I've been wanting to do a port city, so I used this as inspiration. It's not a true representation of the Anna Maria area, Anna Maria is a beach flat, but I made it sitting on a cliff overlooking the sea and made it more during the Renaissance with a castle sitting on top of the hill. Here is the initial sketch and the land water.AnnaMaria01.jpgAnnaMaria02.jpg

Great start Snodsy! The sketch in itself is a work of art, so eager to see more. Always fun to hear about the inspiration for a map

Added more buildings and forests, still need to put roof lines on all the buildings, going to add some sea activity next, which will help me scale the docks accordingly. May do some detail perspectives of some of the main elements, not sure. AnnaMaria04.jpg

Labels added, plan on illustrating some of the main features of the area and still working on the border and title panels AnnaMaria07-01-01.jpg

I like it : good color choices and a lot of details. Are you planning to put some texture/drawings in those woods? And, I really like the little waves you add, but I think it's a bit sharp. A slight blur maybe?

This has come together very quickly - I really like it. But yes some elements like the waves do look a bit pixelly.

Thanks for the comments, the pixellation bothered me, thanks I'll try the blur effect on those lines. I'll add some forest lines as well. Also thanks Larb for your comment on a post last week using your tutourial for city maps, it really helped and sped up the process of drawing all those buildings.

Very nice, a lot of work in a very short amount of time! (relatively speaking)
