Hi Dakra, welcome to the Guild. That's an interesting project, and I wish you all the best with it. Feel free to ask your questions, and I hope someone is able to help you.
I am a happily partially employed engineer with a map puzzle project I want to do. I suggested it to the National Geographic, but never heard back. Just as well- if I succeed, I'LL make the result freely available.
I think all children, as they learn about countries and the world, should be able to assemble a map of the world that puts their own place in the center and the rest of the world in context.
Maybe that's because I grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, known as "The Hub of the Universe" and now live in Jerusalem, Israel, just a mile from the Foundation Stone. In many ancient maps, such as the Bünting Clover Leaf Map, Jerusalem is at the center.
I'LL be asking for ideas about software and projections in another post.
