Default Greetings to the Cartographers of the Cartographers Guild

    Hello all,

I thought I should introduce myself since I finally made a post here. I've been visiting this site for years, but have only recently decided to contribute to the community.

I have been interested in maps and mapping for many years. A world atlas in the living room was the first exposure. After that the maps of Merp and Harn inspired me. More recently I have become enamored of 18th and 19th century maps of America and Eurpoe.

Watching this community grow over the years, I have been extremely impressed by the evolution of the members' skills. This strikes me as evidence that this site has really worked to provide some of the functions of a real 'guild'.

In any case, I look forward to spending some time here.

Hi Cambragol and welcome to the Guild. Agree very much with your comment that members who stick around tend to improve. That's been my personal experience (though I still have a loooong way to go!) The vast, vast majority of members freely offer helpful advice and encouragement with little in the way of negativity, and long may that continue.

I'll look forward to seeing some of your maps.
