Welcome back Keith!! Show us your maps, it is the best way to improve your skills.
Just a quick note to say hello!
I used to prowl these boards years ago, but I fell out for awhile, but the wonderful maps I've seen on the Cartographers Guild Facebook Group inspired me to rejoin the community.
I love maps, and usually hand draw my own with pen and color with pencil crayons, then scan and edit in photoshop. My skills are nothing compared to the works I have seen here though!
Cheers all, and keep mapping!

Thanks Bogie. I just made an album and uploaded a few of my mapping efforts.

Nice stuff. Excellent hand-drawn work. Definitely rep-worthy!

Thanks all. I have no idea what "rep-worthy" is, but I noticed I am getting points for something?? LOL!
I am very humbled by the positive comments to my style. I didn't think it was anything to write home about personally, and was sort of my "good enough for the game table and my D&D hobby web site". I would like to learn more photoshop techniques for colouring, blending, etc. I only hand colour them now so I have a base to smudge, smear, etc in photoshop to use with the various brushes.
I have no idea what I am doing honestly!
"Rep", stands for "Reputation."
It's a sort of way to show your standing in the guild or how advanced you are. Your reputation.
When you make a nice map someone likes, they'll probably "rep" you. It's a good way to say that you really like their work.
Interesting! thanks for bringing a Noob up to speed.
Is your rep tied to the little green bar under your avatar (or does that increase based on post number?) I also can't seem to see any indication of which maps were "liked"?
I am happy with my first day back on these forums, and I am inspired to expand and test my skills based on what I have seen here!
