    I think you've got the right idea with those mountains. Maybe just try playing with the opacity of the linework? I think if you fade that out a bit, it won't actually look too cluttered, especially once you start putting cities and roads etc over them.

    Great looking map, BTW!

    There are loads of useful videos at Fantastic Maps - probably some there that might help you do some of the other bits of your map as well

    I'd take Diamond's advice on the mountains...

    Nice map ! I agree with what has been said above for all the possibilities of stories and adventures it offers!
    For the mountains, have you thought about the caterpillars? On the marine charts, the reliefs are often drawn with caterpillars..

    I've never liked Caterpillar mountains myself, but I think it'd be worth a shot on this one.
