LOL... no Mouse, it's a motorcycle! Maybe I should have made the image larger... I cut the jpeg size, because it's such a small map... maybe I should make it bigger, so all of the little details can be seen.
Is that a dead person lying just outside one of the cottages on the left?

Is that what it is!
OMG! Sorry Storm!
Maybe I just need new glasses!

It looked like a body to me too.
I think adding those curbs to the roads made all the difference - they seem more 'complete' now in a way they didn't before.
oh, I agree, Diamond, that's why I did it
This map is almost finished actually. I need to add the trees, change the map border, add the text labels and key, and then I'm done! Oh, and I need to switch the bar and the library. The cairn in this village is supposed to be behind the library, not the bar.

Small changes, perhaps, but a big improvement, IMO.

Looks great Storm, I agree that the curb really looks good. The one thing that I noticed is there is no transition from road to beach. I understand that the roads are not paved, but it is also unlikely ( but not impossible ) that the roads were made with beach sand. Maybe just a subtle change in color or contrast.

You are absolutely correct, Bogie... the sand would give way to a more dirt clay once you got off the beach. Or a dirt/clay/sand mix. Unfortunately for me, while your fills are absolutely beautiful ( I believe that is one of your soil sand fills) you don't have the transparency fills that DD3 or CD3 normally come with... and I am not talented like Mouse to be able to change fills or textures to suit my needs. Or to create them! lol
One thing I'm considering, is using one of the dirt transparencies as an overlay.... but I don't know how that will work with your sand. I may do an overlay of gravel and blur it so that it's not too busy.... I will have to see. Luckily, thanks to the way cc3+ works, I can go in, after the fact, and add that feature without too much trouble!
In the mean time, I have done a little more work on it. I switched the two buildings I needed to, adjusted the curbs, and added driveways to the houses. I also added in my flora. It's coming along.

Oh, I rendered this a little larger... so please tell me if that motorcycle still looks like a dead body! lol

The map looks great with two exceptions:
1) Bogie already took care of the beach sand question.
2) The blurry grass detracts from what otherwise is semi-photorealistic work. It would make a great improvement if you boosted the resolution on the fill so that it looks like grass or if you used a better grass fill.
I also notice that there's a dead body there that looks more like a motorcycle.
Nix für Ungut!
