Hello everyone! I've recently over the last few months been getting desires to try to "worldbuild" again and create up fantastical stories revolving around a multitude of cultures and such of my imagination. I used to do this a lot when I was a young kid but after a certain point it kinda just stopped. It never truly died, as I still lived out stories of my own making (in a manner of speaking) thru playing Civ V, Crusader Kings 2, and Stellaris, but I'm hoping to actually get to point where I plot out these civilizations across a map and the ebb and flow of their empires over time. I figured this place would be a great place to start as far as resources for map making goes, and hopefully can even find decent tutorials for plotting political maps over a landmass as well.

I'm looking forward to seeing you complete a full historical atlas encompassing an entire world, for a span of several thousands of years. So, now get to work!
Thanks! To you as well!
Yeah, I'm doing bits and pieces at the moment. Currently doing a lot of research on the development and advancement of civilizations and the factors that also lead to their collapse. Currently working on designing the early onset of one of my civilizations that takes inspiration from the pre-Columbian Native American peoples and civilizations.
Ha! I don't think a full historical atlas could ever be considered complete, but it'd be really cool to make something of the sort. Right now I'm just focusing on one of the continents and then I'll probably spill over to another when I get bored/feel satisfied with my work on the one continent.
