March / April '19 Lite Challenge: Lunar Observatory

After a moment of confusion when reading this month's lite challenge I quickly got attached to the idea of drawing an observatory. This would of course be a observatory mainly devoted to studying the moon, and I plan to include moons drawn on black boards, as pictures in books, as miniatures and so on. As a physicist (although not an astronomer) the thought of including old fashioned scientific instruments and equations brings me great joy

The map itself will be a cross section of a building. I might include a small floor plan but the focus is definitely on the cross section. My experience in drawing buildings is almost non-existent so this will be an educational challenge. If anyone has general advice on what to keep in mind for this kind of project I greatly appreciate it.

Cross sections are their own special challenge but it looks like you've got a handle on it. Nice work on the stairs!

Despite the complete lack of updates here (sorry about that, been busy with a lot of things), I do seem to have a completed map now! Or at least this might be the final version, I guess I still have a day to find mistakes or add details
