Welcome and have fun with it.
I am a gamer of 20 years or more, and a graphic designer. I hope to learn how to apply my design talents and tools to creating maps for my games and others.
I begin with a strong foundation in Adobe CS3 and hope that it will help in my endeavor.
I run a small operation creating and selling dry erase battle boards.
I just love gaming in general, and hope to meet more people out there who share my passions.
Great to meet everyone!
Welcome and have fun with it.
If the radiance of a thousand suns was to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the Mighty One...I am become Death, the Shatterer of worlds.

Well, if as you say, you have more than a passing familiarity with Photoshop, I would suggest looking at the Tutorial section. While they may not teach you anything new about the program, They will about how to apply its various abilities where they apply to mapping.
Your input in the WIP threads would also be welcome 'cause there are quitr a few people just starting out with that prog.
Welcome and have fun!!
See you in the WIPs
