Hello -

Lovely site you have here, and some fabulous images. As for me, my stick figures are warped, but I came in search of some help with that. I'm in the process of writing a semi-autobiographical allegory in a fantasy setting... with castles and dragons and bogs and cliffs.... I have a general view of the world in mind, but as I write each scene I find that I need a new detail, or to move a castle. Moving castles is easier in word processing than with crayons, and I foolishly sold my mountain of Legos.

So, I began the search for budget friendly software to capture a draft of this world and be able to look at it, wander through it, and change it without wearing eraser holes in my graph paper. (Did I mention my stick figures are warped?) I'm finding there's a larger learning curve than I was counting on. I'm thankful for the option to work with people who know their craft and may enjoy the challenge of building a world and the adventure of reading along as characters move through it.

I'll be posting in the "Request a Map" thread once I get the current requirements assembled. Be aware that the map, like the story, needs room to grow and shift. I don't like to pour my heart into something and have it get changed underfoot, so I'd rather not do that to others without warning. This will be a progressive project, and likely a collaboration in both art forms. If you're up for the adventure, get in touch. Should the book come to full fruit, I'm expecting to include a few ancient looking sketch maps such as found in the works of Tolkien, Lewis, Eddings, and Lawhead. But first, I'd just like to keep up with where my characters are wandering off to.

My personal adventure includes database development, business analysis, clowning, missions, American Sign Language, blogging, poetry and short stories, and a love for books, music, food, games, art, nature, and debate. More is available on the blog, sglass - dot - net.

Nice to meet you.
