It's certainly good to find this Forum, I used to play map making as a child living in the U.K and now four decades later I am currently working on my Cartography and learning more everyday.

I do appreciate Mr David Greenhood's book " Mapping for Everybody " written in 1946, a great read for my amateur hobby.

I am in a location where computers are not available, not working properly and software is very hard to come by, so shall be practising my Paper Cartography using pencil, fountain pen with numerous colour inks and compass.

I will however be using/tracing a version of google maps to use as a base map and filling in the pathways, small roads, footpaths and numerous other things and locations that they have left out or not added.

I plan to make a very detailed map with shops and important helpful locations, such as chemist/pharmacist, doctors, food supplies and other important information for travellers in Asia/India.

So I look forward to contributing and chatting to the other members belonging to this group.

Cheers.
