My name is John, and recently I found this site while I was looking up various things related to map making. I have been making maps since I can remember, and writing stories to go along with it. At some point my dad got into it too, and purchased CC3. After coming home from a 2-year stay in Brazil, I picked it up from him and got to work. I have been working on the same map on and off since then, tweaking it and improving it over time. I am writing a series of fantasy novels based in this world (Fersiva), and so as I develop the story the map is fleshed out. After finding this site and exploring the tutorials, I feel like it is finally coming together.

Besides maps and writing, I am a fan of large-scale strategy games, be they board games or video games. A personal favorite is Galactic Civilizations 2 and 3. I also enjoy reading, although recently I haven't had as much time to do that. I work as an IT professional for a small freight forwarding business in Portland, OR, as well as other duties there. I am married, and have one daughter. I also really enjoy photography.
