Perhaps I am suggesting something that is overly ambitious, but I think it would be helpful to sub categorize the mapping categories with the method of map making. My personal example is that I am a novice town/city map maker and I work with pen and paper. It would be helpful to me to easily find other artists in my niche and to have a community that is more oriented to that specific style of work. Additionally another split between photo ediiting software such as Photoshop and the cartography software. I think it will help direct people to posts that they are searching for and create a greater bond of artists that have particular styles.
