I agree it's a good idea. Considered doing something similar myself a while back.

You'll find it might take quite a while to build up an audience though. So I'd recommend thinking of it this way: you're going to dedicate 1-2hrs a week (or what ever you decide) to draw maps on your computer as practice and for fun. It just happens to be that you're going to also stream the maps on Twitch.

That way you're not putting pressure on yourself to "have people turn up". Also, if you take a map from start to finish then you don't have to think about what topics to cover - you just do.

As you'll know Twitch can save your stream and publish to YouTube. You could then take that stream and cut it up into a number of different "tutorial" videos based on each step you've done through. That would give you re-purposed, bite sized content to publish either on your blog, twitter or wherever.
