Hello all, I'm Rune! (They/them pronouns.)

I've been worldbuilding in earnest for the past two weeks or so, and before that, for a few months on and off. I recently pulled out a paper map I made and tried to convert it as best I could to an equirectangular sattelite projection and a heightmap in GIMP 2. Here are the results! Any help or advice would be very much appreciated--at the moment I'm trying to figure out how to evenly spread out my polar regions on the map so they don't squish up when I convert it to a globe.

On the greyscale heightmap, lighter values = higher altitudes. Disregard the colors on the "satellite" image; they're supposed to be algae blooms.

Thanks so much, and it's great to be a member!
