I never know how to "introduce" myself on forums. It seems like such a strange thing to do. What with social media platforms being so informal and all, it seems strange to say hello, and not just jump into the middle of a conversation. But I suppose it is the polite thing to do. After all, I am new here. I wouldn't just walk up to a random table at a bar and start asking questions, and giving my two cents on things.

So hello Cartography Guild. I'm Kyle, and I am extremely interested in what you guys do. I made my first map for a D&D campaign I'm DMing a few weeks ago, and I was instantly hooked. I have always been fascinated by the maps at the beginning of fantasy novels. I never thought I could make one myself though, until I did. Granted, it wasn't the most beautiful thing in the world, but I did it. I was super proud of it too. I even showed it to one of my players, which in hindsight, I probably should not have done, but I couldn't help myself. I think I'm going to be redoing it anyhow.

So that's why I am here. To learn from you fine folk, to ask questions, and to hopefully get some cool brushes. I used Gimp for that first map, and will probably continue to do so for the time being. I would eventually like to learn how to draw them by hand though.

I'll see you all around the forums then. I plan on making this a lifelong hobby, so I'll be around for a while. I'll try not to be too much of a nuisance.
