My hand-drawn maps aren't near this. Good work, they really have that nostalgia homebrew setting charm.

Great thread and very nice maps!

I think I'll scan some of the old maps I created for the stories I wrote and inspired by Tolkien's universe largely

These were made using pencils and stumps. The first was in an A3 sketchbook while second image was drawn on copier paper.. and now has (balloon shaped?) water stain/ rust/ mold on it. Both are colorized in PS, though.

These are all so great because they show the baby steps where it all began.
I only have a map or two around here but since I'm planning on redoing it I figure I'll wait for that WIP as it is still the world I use. That and I can't get this stupid scanner to work...it just scans blank. Go figure. And Yes, I've tried the page both directions just in case.

In case you missed the earlier discussion on printers, perhaps you should read this Jax.

Arsheesh, I think your old maps have a real artistic flare that is sometimes lost when projects are wholly digital. I particularly like the way you depicted the water in your regional map and the overall layouts of the city. Although unrealistic, perhaps the gods of these realms divinely inspired the city planners to lay them out in such a sublime manner. Think they are fantastic.

Those are fantastic Obliro, real pieces of art.

Sorry for letting my hand-drawn bias show through
