This was a commission for Kobold Quarterly #13. I thought I'd take a shot at using a different background for a map, using a metal texture from cgtextures.com

Cheers. It was a small 1/2 page so it was fun to take the opportunity to experiment a little. Not totally convinced with the result, but it's going in the right direction. I think the next iteration will involve more of a painted on feel rather than retaining the texture throughout.
