    Wip Muyremere - WIP

Here's a map I've been irregularly working on for the last two weeks.

It's the kingdom of Muyremere from my homebrew campaign setting. The map faces east, since the ocean is that way (a large continent lies to the west) and the people of Muyremere are renowned for their seafaring skills. On the left hand side of the map is a sort of sidebar (not visible in this cropped image) which I'll use for a legend and the coats of arms of the 6 duchies that make up the country.

I've tried to use the forest style that I found in Blaeu's maps, which I think is really beautiful (Blaeu's work I mean; I'm not blowing my own trumpet here ).
Here's a link to a huge atlas of theirs: http://www.leidenarchief.nl/content/view/103/68/
There's a link on the bottom of the page that says: "bekijk de atlassen in de viewer." Click it to see al the good stuff

Beautiful hand-drawn mountains. The town/castle/tower icons look a bit blurry but that could just be from scanning at low res.

I really like the subtle use of colouring on your forests and mountains. I wonder if it would look good to do a very subtle blue on the coastlines as well, to make the water stand out from the land more. I don't know if that will draw attention away from the land or not, just a thought though. Otherwise it looks great.

Royal: I'm very sorry for your loss, your mother was a terribly attractive woman.
