Outrider Studios commissioning Maps for the Edge RPG
Good Day,
Outrider Studios is looking for a cartographer to convert some color digital maps into a black and white hand-drawn format. The maps are high resolution and were made with Fractal Mapper software, but do not match the art style of the book we are releasing.
The work consists of one "world map" formatted for an 8.5 x11 page, and eight additional regional maps each being about a half page. You can find the world map here: http://www.faithandsteel.net/Images/edgemap.jpg
The decision to re-do the maps by hand is a last minute editorial requirement and thus we are short of time. We will only be accepting applications until Friday at 5 PM eastern time.

Please include contact information and a portfolio sample. Payment is $100 offered, but open to negotiation. It will be %50 in advance and the remainder upon completion of the work. All payments made Via Paypal, and Outrider Studios keeps copyrights to the work.

Just something to consider, Arreyder, and by no means a criticism, but keep in mind is that you're asking for nine "publish-worthy" hand-drawn maps (arguably more difficult and time-consuming that digital format) at approximately $11 per map--and on a tight deadline, and for full copyright. I recognize that you're probably on a really tight budget, and I really do hope you find an artist, but keep in mind what you're valuing a skilled person's time and art at.

That is indeed a tight budget/deadline. Can you give a link to an example of the style you're looking for? Hand-drawn can mean a lot of things. Thanks, and good luck!

It's possible that the 100 is for the world map and the others are for down the line? That or maybe the regionals are just blow ups of what's on the world map. In which case they would be pretty easy to produce once the World map is complete (if you make the master big enough).
