Thread: War Ration Book Paper Scan

  1. #1

Default War Ration Book Paper Scan

I recently scanned in a War Ration Book from 1942, and as I was looking at the paper, I thought about how perfect it would be for a map. So today, I removed the text and saved the image for a future map. I thought I would share it if anyone wants it.

This is perfect! Trying to replicate those kinds of folds and stains digitally can be tricky or unconvincing. I'll definitely use this in the future. Rep!

Awesome paper. Seems quite low res though. Has it been blown up in scale?
Royal: I'm very sorry for your loss, your mother was a terribly attractive woman.

I scanned it in at 300 dpi. The original is about 6" x 10.5".

As mentioned, it is a little lower res than might be desired: any chance of scanning it at 600dpi-1000dpi? I'd love to be able to make textures out of the pages and split them up into various shapes/configurations...
