    Default November Entry: Castle Marlbrook

Long time not here, so to make up for that, here's the start of my Castle Marlbrook. This is hand-drawn, scanned and colored in Xara Xtreme Pro. I used Nendo my 3D modeling program to build the structure of the castle in outline, then printed it out and used for reference in the hand-drawing.

I'm keeping this simple. I plan to add a forested hill, some road, perhaps a moat, then town behind the castle and a river peeking to the left side and off map.

I should finish this this weekend.

Finished the surrounding areas in hand-drawn and color. Am placing a legend in the bottom right and a border around the whole map... will finish tomorrow.

    Default Done!

Thanks, RJB! (and congrats for last month's challenge win - I didn't say so before.)

OK, my absence here is based on all the game development I've been doing for the past couple months, I just have several publication projects and naturally they are all coming to a head, at the same time (right now), so I realized that though I wanted to finish this map. My original plan to finishing it tomorrow is out of the question, and that means very few days left in the month to complete the challenge.

I said to myself, what the hey, I need to finish this map today. So I did.

Border and legend done - map done!

    Good luck folks!

This is truly a beaut. Really nicely done. I would like to live there. The view from the great tower must be fantastic.

Very nice, GP. I really like the unusual view you have there.
If I had one nitpick it would be that lack of shadowing on the town near the river at the top it is making it float and appear somewhat empty.
Royal: I'm very sorry for your loss, your mother was a terribly attractive woman.
