    Blindking, it's actually pretty simple. There's a program called Hugin that can easily re-project images into a variety of different projections. Naeddyr wrote a tutorial for using it a while back.

    I made a bunch of different reference images (some attached below, for fun) and warped them into a stereographic projection with Hugin, and then traced over those reference images to draw the map.

    I tried a few different ways of doing the coastlines, but I wasn't very happy with the uniformity that I was getting, so I ended up taking an image of the Earth's coastline and chopping it up into little tiny bits, and then putting them back together again to make up these coastlines. Some of the smaller islands are probably recognizable, and I think I left India mostly intact.

    The heightmap was made using a variation of a tutorial by su_liam. That then got plugged into wilbur for erosion so that I could get the rivers in places that made sense, instead of just plopping them down wherever I felt like.
