    Default Sculpture Map

Make a map in the form of a physical, three-dimensional sculpture.

You can map any subject, in any material you like. Clay, wood, papier mache, construction toys, sand, cake icing, whatever. Just as long as it's something physical (not computer graphics) and 3D (so not simply hand-drawn artwork).

It's an out-there challenge, requiring you to most likely throw away all your normal mapping techniques and pursue something novel.
    I am a geology nerd.

Assuming I stick with fantasy cartography, I'd like to become a World Builder, laying out not only a realistic topography, but also the geopolitical boundaries and at least rough descriptions of the countries and societies.

You could still use PS/Gimp to make a paper craft model and then... I know this would be the difficult bit... you would have to tear yourself away to the printer and then fold it.

I like the idea, but I think it will get about two participants. At most.

My birthday cake this year.... Castle Battenburg !

And good it was too. Of course some of the walls were "slighted" and then the towers fell and then well, it was all over for the inhabitants as the giants razed it
