Wip [WiP] Dragon Mountain and the Red Cavern

I get the sneaking suspicion I'm going to need A LOT of motivation on this one! If I even finish it ... I'm trying out something new - line hatching with north-western illumination for relief. A classic cartographic approach, but nothing I've done quite so extensively before. The tools so far: 2 px wide hard pencil tool in layers.

and a close up without the guide layers:

Looks nice and really time consuming. Good luck with it!
I did something in the same spirit (http://www.cartographersguild.com/sh...ns-map-for-PCs) and it took me ... ages to finish it up. Exhausting

Awesome undertaking...look forward to seeing this come along. It'll look really great when you are done.

Hehe, since you're from Switzerland, I can understand why you devote so much time to mountains as well ... they just tend to stick from the ground so obviously!

    Thanks for the cheerleading

And here we go, the mountain's growing slowly and I've added a darker base layer because the white glare was starting to hurt my eyes!

Just hope the technique has no copyrights because I must give it a try!

I think the technique involves mostly perseverance and thumb cramps!
