That map looks quite good, what programs did you use? Anyways, it looks kinda like thinner + taller version of the British Island... (Not the Irish part) Anyways, how do you pronounce Vvara? It's quite hard to figure out.
I still have a long way to go to completion, both geographically and politically, but I want to share the current state of my first digital map. It only displays regions and oceans at this time. Comments and critique are always welcome. I can answer questions regarding background info and whatnot.

Here's a major update from the last one. I added 'biomes', rivers, cities, and roads. I still have mountain ranges as well as a few visual tweaks to make.
The map's too large now, as i had to enlarge it to add the extra details. Here's the DevientArt Link.

I don't like the look of the biomes, so I've replaced the water and land textures with a higher res version. Personally, I like it better this way. I'll get an image link up soon.

Kazou, it's just pronounced Vah-rah. Also, I greatly expanded the map. I'll link to it when I'm out of school and can access Devient Art.

Ah, well, I love this newly-discovered hobby. I'm thinking of possible careers pathways.
Anyway, here's the updated map. I'll also be putting it in the original post.

Did I say it looks good? Scratch that... It's an awesome looking simple map (I like simple maps, too realistic ones give me a headache.). Too bad I don't have this kind of skill myself.
I'm with Kazou. I love good and simple. And this map is really nice.
I like it. It's quite simple by now, but it should be easy to add more elements. You're definitely on the right track.
By the way, it reminds me a bit of Westeros, with its vertical orientation.
