Everything begins with and idea and a quick doodle ... a rustic compass rose made from logs and rope.
(this time there will be at least one entry for sure ... and an embarrasing one if I forget to update this WIP.)

I think that I am leaning towards the heavy logs.

Neat. Each one has a different feel to it. The thinnest one reminds me of a dream catcher. Mystical native American style compass would be pretty cool. Heaviest one says logging camp to me. Middle one I'm not sure on. Seems a bit nautical. I never realized that something as simple as thickness says so much. Very cool.
So, adjusting the proportions and laying out some lines ...
