While browsing around I somehow came across DAZ3D and saw that DAZ Studio - the basic version is currently on 'sale' for $0.00 instead $49.95.
Offer seems to be active till 12/31/11 ...
I think with this post I also fulfilled the terms of the section within the license agreement that states 'you have to tell at least two people about DAZ Studio' - yes it is really part of the EULA and yes I hereby admit that I do actually read them

The basic version of Daz Studio is always free. It's the add-ons that cost money. Apart from that, it's a great program, but I liked the interface better when it was more like Poser's.
