Hi there Pierre, welcome to the Guild! Perhaps there is nothing novel, and perhaps you used stamps for some of the accoutrements, but the hand drawn portion turned out really nice. Thanks for sharing!
Cheers,

Thanks for your comments !
Yes i used stamps to decorate, i was too lazy to draw them. In fact i drawn a compass rose, it was almost done when... Gimp F****** Crashed ! I had no saved image... so i downloaded one ^^
I made a new version, with just a 'canvas texture' layer, and it's way better, nothing changes when looking at the whole map, but when zooming in it adds "life" to the parchment background and it fills blurry areas.
I won't upload it here until i have drawn the towns and placed all the names.
I wonder if my corner ornaments are visible enough, maybe i should raise up opacity, what do you think ?
This is the final result, i won't touch it anymore (Still gotta do many, many, many things in 3D)
Title : The world of Aran
Size : 1494x1321 px
Approximate working time : 8-10 hours ( i had to learn the whole thing...)
Price invested to get this result : $0 (Okay, i had to buy a computer, a Wacom tablet, rhum and tobacco...)
Experience in cartography before : None
Number of porn videos watched after working : 27
Huge mistake i could not fix : Rivers are flowing from one sea to another, forming a lake...huh, wierd ^^
People who gave me advices : My dad, my best friend, the Blender Clan forum, I'd like to say the Cartographer's Guild, but i posted my map almost finished so...
Tutorials that helped me the most : http://fantasticmaps.wordpress.com/ This guy rocks.
Thanks for viewing !
Looks good! Although in the future, go ahead and use the attachment manager to upload it instead of an image hosting site. A lot of us are pretty wary about clicking external links.

That is such a cool map! I could imagine a good story already for that world.
