Just create a duplicate image (image->duplicate), then resize and save that one as a jpg.
Nice colours and land texture, btw.

Learning GIMP - Work in Progress
Trying out some stuff as a new GIMP user. Comments welcome. Original size is 3600x3000 px.
Quick question: Is there an easy way to save a large original image down to a smaller resolution in GIMP without changing the original image, saving to png, and then returning the image to original size?

Heh... I should hope you like it, its almost totally from your regional map tutorial. I have played with it a bit to put more texture in the ocean via bump map (slightly) and added more noise over top of the ocean. I did use your height map Tut to make the land though to get the more variable coastline jaggies instead though...Originally Posted by RobA
