Looking really cool so far!
Also, fixed your title for you.
A few months ago, I decided I should start doing the challenges. With school being what it is, I haven't had time. As I have a few minutes, let's see what I can come up with; the practice ought to be good for me, right?

Trymannia 1.jpg
Trymannia is the scientific & exploration center of it's world, fully confident that (as the only place sending ships out into the world) it is the only place worth being.
Art and culture are largely rehashings of 'classical' styles, but science, mathematics, and geography are swiftly moving forward.
The burgeoning middle-class of professionals is the largest participant in the scientific renaissance, while the aristocracy benefit personally but are failing to notice the rapid dwindling of their power base.
Not bad for an hour's worth of work, eh?
(Yes, the text is terrible. If I get a chance, I'll fix it.)
EDIT: Please forgive the title, I see that I did not read the instructions completely - for this I apologize. (And I don't know how to fix it)

Great for an hour or so! I like the jumbo cogs as well

Here we are, complete with Compass Gear and... updated... titles. I refuse to call these 'fixed,' but the'll hold for now.
Still to-do:
Make the ocean more ocean-y
Vary the plains somehow
Add some hills
Adjust the shading on the mountains to increase their depth
Better political borders
Roads & Railroads
