    Map Simple Subterrain

I usually make detailed battlemaps with lots of textures, objects, elements, etc. But I've been feeling kind of burnt out lately, so I wanted to try something a bit different...something that was much more simple. And, yeah...here it is.

Never done a map like this before, so I'm not entirely sure what kind of crit/suggestions to expect. I guess I just wanted to see what people thought of it in general. Although, I am wondering if maybe it's too simple/empty? And does the water look too saturated compared to the rest of the map? I was also thinking of maybe adding a border, or would that be too much? And possibly a title in the lower left corner, with a small border around it (or not)?

    Looks cool!

The shapes remind of some kind of temple .. Or maybe it is a shrine to some desert-tribe deity?
This would explain, why the water looks so clear ..

    *like*

    Kind regards,

    Thanks very much, schattentanz!

Small update: I wasn't liking the bright, shiny gold/brown very much, so I changed that to a more muted brown, with a bit more contrast between the walls and floor. I think that colour also goes better with the water. And I didn't like how the darker tile texture/colour sections in the center corridor and the one on the far right were breaking up the flow of the tunnels, so I removed those.

I think it looks good although I actually prefer the original colour palette over the more normal looking one.

    Thanks Larb.

    Here's a version with slightly warmer/brighter browns.

Nicely done Neyjour! Generic maps are always useful for a quick game or when the GM needs to improvise. I like this color scheme the best, however, the first one wasn't bad either.

    Thanks Bogie!

I was thinking of maybe turning this into a future project. But instead of 6000x4000 (the full-rez dimensions of this one), each map would be perfectly square (4000x4000, or possibly 5000x5000), so they could be fitted together to create a mega-dungeon.

If anyone wants to play on this, you can download the full-rez versions (with and without grid) here: Marosia Sanctum

This is really cool. Things have changed a lot since I played RPGs 20 years ago.
