I wasn't sure if I had posted an introduction, and if I ever have it has likely been lost in the many pages since.

I'm a gamer, game designer, illustrator and fool obsessed with all things mapped.
My first great books that occupied my time were a set of 1975 Encyclopedia Britannica (the monochrome relief maps of the 50 states were the bomb!) and a Rand McNally atlas of the world. Sometime in my late teens National Geographic came out with a massive atlas... and of course the map issues of Nat Geo over the years have enthralled me time and again.

I love the work I see here. So many talented people sharing creations!

If you're ever in Arizona, go by Empire Games in Mesa and look me up. I should be there almost every day.

I am working on trying to render forests for a relief map I've been working on, and found a post or two here, but they haven't worked out.
If anyone want to link a good thread for doing them in Photoshop CS6, I'd be mighty appreciative.
