Hello everyone.

The name that I go by around mot places on the internet is Kwakamungus (Kwak for short) but my real name Matthew. I'm an aspiring author who has decide that I need work on my world as well as my story. That's why I came here, to receive help from people who know what they are doing. I also want a place to meet and talk to people who have the same interests as me. I think that talking to other people who are doing at lest some of the same that I am doing will help me a lot more than just trying to work my way though everything that I have problems with.

Welcome, Kwak-Matthew! Indeed, one can't help but improve one's cartography, worldbuilding, and storytelling immersed in a helpful bunch like the Guild. Since we're carto-oriented first and foremost, do you know what kind of maps you want or need as you design your setting? I'll bet if you pick one or a few styles that suit you, and work through tutorials in the open (Work-in-Progress threads) you'll find all sorts of ideas brewing. Personally, I find generating some geography gives me both a framework on which to hang stories, as well as suggests all manner of detail that I'm nowhere near clever enough to come up with in a vacuum.
