Looks good so far. Since you're going to draw planks on the deck, why not drawing the wooden main roof aswell? Some sort of a side view would be a nice addition to the map (maybe you've already planned it).

Yes, I agree a side-view (if you haven't already planned one) would complement this nicely.

Thanks. Hoping to get an update up early tomorrow.

Depending on time and degree of difficulty, I will either be adding an elevation, or an isometric picture. Sadly, my entry in the regular challenge is falling further and further behind in terms of schedule, so it is a decision of whether to rush this for more time on Larb's commission, or take my time on this, and neglect the spaceship. It's a conundrum!

In my opinion you should do whichever you feel is more enjoyable and that you will therefore be more productive on!

    Another update.

    Still to do:
--add highlights to the furniture (the crates, barrels, tables, chairs, sacks, etc.)
    --finish the labels
    --a couple of final tweaks
--maybe: add a cat lounging around somewhere

Tomorrow is the last day I can spare for this map, prior to the voting. Hopefully I'll be able to provide one more update in this thread.

Whatever the result of the challenge, I will re-post this map afterwards, when I have more time to work on it. The re-post will include the isometric drawing, title, maybe a border. I would also like to make additional changes, if people have any suggestions for me.

    THW

Very nice. I especially like the way you managed the shadows (both soft and efficient).

Nice job so far. That would be sad it stays unfinished

    Thanks guys.

I'll be going away for a few days, so won't have a chance to work on this before the voting begins, so here is the final update for this month's challenge.

Credit and many thanks to Azelor for providing me with some excellent fonts.

Thanks also to the people who gave comments along the way.

I will be continuing with this map when things are less busy, including adding the isometric view. It will also be an opportunity to make additional changes if anyone thinks there's something wrong with this, or can see ways to improve it. Always happy for constructive criticism (I'll start a WIP thread in the Building/Structures forum, if necessary, when this one gets locked; in the meantime, feel free to comment, criticise, condemn etc. right here).

    THW
