Hello JefBT, nice to see you return! Pretty colors on this map!
I'm away for a long time, but I'm still on the maps.
Here's my new work, a map for a fantasy story. I changed my style and I liked the results.
I still have a lot of work to finish this map, but I love doing it.
Hello JefBT, nice to see you return! Pretty colors on this map!
Hello there!
I like the fantasy feeling and as chick said, I like the colors as well!
What program did you use for this?
Hi, TK. Thank you!
I used gimp 2.8 for the tree brushes, and photoshop cs 2 for the line and colors. I only used that old ps version cause it's lightweight in comparission with gimp, and my computer can't hold high resolution with a lot of layers.
Besides that, I used a Wacom Intuos Pen & Touch and a mouse.
Except for the trees, that I created a 12 layer random brush, I've drawn all by hand.
It's very nice, thanks for sharing. Pleasant to look at, and definitely brings a feeling for your setting.
The only thing that looks a bit out of place to me are the (west and north?) cliffs. I understand why you did it though, since the coast further south and north are at a much different level. I'm not how that would usually be done in a (pseudo?)-isometric style though, so I'm afraid I'm not a whole lot of good for suggestions.
Loving it though, keep it coming.
Thank you for the suggestion, Pmumble. I already tried another cliff styles, but the story author asked me to leave this way, as the west and north cliffs are key places for the story.
It looks strange because some parts of the map are done on a pseudo-isometric style, but some parts are not.
This is a new style I am experimenting, and I still have a long road to master it, but I'm trying to improve it. I'll try to figure out some other way of cliff-making.
Thank you for the kindly words.
