Map Lullina - Capricali B&W Commissioned Map

A map I was commissioned to do for a book author.

For now the author asked me to post it again later so I will do that later.

This is lovely. Normally I prefer coloured maps to line art, because I find them easier to parse, especially when there's a lot of detail. But every now and then I come across a map that doesn't need colour and stands beautifully on its own, and this is one! Great work.

Thanks ChickPea! I haven't done a lot of B&W maps before but I was really happy with how it turned out! Thanks for all your kind words!

    Congrats, a nice map.

I like the overall style and there are some nice touches (e.g. Leafynn, the Golden dome).
Really nice forests; mountains are in your own recognizable style, it could be a good or a bad thing ; personally I like them, that’s something fairy in their shape.

Maybe some parts of the map are not so carefully drawn as others: e.g. I find the walls of Carelily a bit rushed and I noticed that the perspective is different between Carelily (isometric) Malindy (a little less isometric) and The Ness (2d view). But this may be considered a sort of creative license, since this is a hand-drawn map of a fantasy world.

    Anyway, a good job.

I almost don't know what to make of those mountains! On the one hand, some of them set my reality sirens screeching. But on the other hand, they are so new, and different, and wild, and intriguing, that maybe I'd rather see them pushed further toward unreality!

    Very cool.

Thank Fabio p! I personally love the way those major cities and Im not sure what you were trying to say but I will take a closer look at them to see if there is anything I could do better.

jshoer, This map is less realistic and more stylistic but when dealing with certain fantasy subjects I think it adds to the feeling if it has that different feeling to it. Thanks for your comment!

The author just asked me if I could hold off on posting this map (a little late), even though I asked about that earlier on and she seemed fine with me posting it. I am going to take the picture down for a while and I think I will post it again later... Thanks to everyone who posted on this!
