Hi Maki, welcome to the guild. Nice to know that you're doing a map as a fantasy writer - love books with maps in them - and it also helps with continuity in the story
Be sure to check out our tutorial section, and when you're ready to get your feet wet - post your Work-In-Progress in the WIP forum for help and critique

    Thank you very much.
Need to accentuate that I am a hobby writer. Now I am reading the tutorials, but it will take maybe weeks till I will have created a first map

I am wondering, how beautiful many maps in the forums are.

Some people works for hundreds of hours on their maps, and some maps you'll make in half an hour - depends on style an detail. Start small and work your way up

And don't be discouraged if you can not follow a tutorial perfectly, you will learn something each time. I don't think I was ever able to follow one perfectly either.

Hehe and there's people like me who spend hundreds of hours and in the end it looks like I spent half an hour LOL

Maki, welcome to the forum. Enjoy your map-making and don't be shy about sharing your work-in-progress with the forum. I've found everyone to be helpful and encouraging.
