June 2015 Entry : The Isere Valey

Hello everyone!
This month i'll try to map a small part of the alp mountains (the bigest city on the map is Grenoble). I have a few ideas about the canvas but i'm still not sure wich one i'll use so for now i'm focusing on the map.
For now i'm working on relief and textures.

The map is great. Having done an internship in Grenoble some time ago, it brings back some memories. I'm not sure about the canvas. I like the idea, but there's something odd about it - I don't know, maybe a transition between the two... Sorry to not be very helpful on this.

I understand what you mean about the canvas Ilanthar, it wasn't the final one but just something done badly to show the idea
I think i'll do my map to look like a web map on a tablet, with a user interface and fake menus.
Update: the basemap textures are almost finished, i've alsdo worked in illustrator to add icons and labels.

And also a few screens of a 3d version of the map with an hillshade and an aerial view, done with webgl, thats quite easy to do in qgis with the plugin qgis2threejs :

The Canvas is a pretty good idea. overall well done Francissimo! I like the apple turned into a peer

Very nice! The pear logo and the base alien option are both hilarious . Excellent map Francissimo. Oh, and I really dig the top left 3D view ; impressive!
