June / July '15 Lite Challenge: Map a Disaster
Since ChickPea won the last challenge I am going to select her idea for this next challenge: Map a Disaster.
"My thinking was you could do somewhere (big or small) that's been affected by a disaster like an earthquake, flood or volcanic eruption. Or you could step into the fantastical and have something like a dark lord raising a giant mountain for his evil lair in the middle of a region, or maybe duelling magicians wrecking the landscape or something like that."
So, map anything you want and then wreck it! It could be as small as a house that caught on fire or as big as a planet being hit by an asteroid.
Any genre is acceptable, Fantasy, Modern, Sci-fi
As always, please include the following in your thread:
Title each new thread June / July '15 Lite Challenge - <your title>
Precede each WIP image with the tag ### Latest WIP ###. If you forget to add it your latest map won't show up in the Thumbnail picker.
The contest will end sometime around the 14th of July and the winner shall receive a silver compass and praise form his or her peers.

I'd sure like to (even have a good idea), but I need to refine my hand-drawing processes in order to compete. I've done a bunch of maps in the past where they look good (enough) on paper, but not once scanned in to the computer. I'm just a High School student with an interest in maps, rather than a professional. I think I might start working on it privately, and if I like it and think it I can finish it, I'll share it on here.Originally Posted by ChickPea

I hope you will join in. The challenges are great for learning new things and you might get some tips on improving the scans of your original drawings. Plus it's just great fun to be involved!
But no pressure! You can always post your work in one of the regular WIP threads if you don't take part and need some advice.
