Oooo.... I love city maps like this. Can't wait to see the finished result.

Nice work, wish I had the patience/skill to make something that nice.

    Thanks guys!

Just when I star coloring the map I get a Blue Screen of Death. I check my RAM and I get a bunch of errors. Seems like it's faulty. Now I have to wait for my new RAM to arrive. Man, just when things got interesting. All part of the process I suppose

While that is pretty terrible, just make sure you have all your stuff on your HD backed up. That is more important! =P

Agreed. Best is to have an unconnected backup, like a large thumbdrive or an external HD that isn't running constantly.
In fact, best would be to have multiple backups.

I've installed the new RAM and started working on the color. This is about 60% done. I'm still not sure if I'll do darker ground and brighter buildings or the other way around.

This is looking fantastic! It's really coming together well.

I really like the colours you have already for the surrounding countryside, and personally I wouldn't change those. Your roof colours in some areas are brighter (eg in High Town area). I think I like those better than the duller colours nearer the waterfront. Not sure if that's a deliberate thing, or if you just haven't finished those parts yet? But overall, wow, it looks great.

I agree - I think the farmland outside looks fine. I think the buildings being brighter than the land might be best as they are the focus of the map. Also I like the little tiltyard outside of town!

This is coming along wonderfully JP.
The brighter roofs do read better. Ground and fields look good at present.
Already a stunning piece of work.
