The client is working on the labels and wanted me to do a cutaway of a noble's townhouse in the meanwhile. So here is the first sketch I've sent. I hope he likes it. If he gives the go ahead I'll add some more detail and color.

I like the colors as is. On the contrast front, you might try just darkening to the shadows a pinch to see if it helps with the depth.

Very nice cut-away - reminds me of a georgian manor house. I always have difficulty getting cut-away maps to look right.
This is an amazing map. I love the little details like the way the color changes in the nicer part of town, and that you added the reflections in the water. I don't think you should bring the saturation down, as the contrast from the bright red roofs to the dull gray ones provides a nice transition between the different parts of town. Your cutaway is very nice as well, I'm quite impressed by your mastery of perspective and geometry.
Thanks for the support guys, and for your helpful comments. Here is the updated cutaway. I hope someone finds it interesting at least. It's good for someone besides me and the client to see the WIP. Work gets lonely sometimes

I'm just gobsmacked by your talent! One more 'Amazing' from me! And a big thank you for taking us through the process!
Thank you ravells, ChickPea, and Ilanthar!
This is the final image for the house. Now I wait for the client to give me more info about the city map.
