Very cool. Will be checking back with some interest. Blender mesh must be awfully large....
It looks good. I quite like the Rhun sea and Nurnen sea areas. Nurnen looks a bit big but still looks good.
3d text could be interesting but probably more problematic than 2d text on top.
It could be interesting to have the text coming up from the ground, but not as the ground itself. Not sure if that sounds understandable.
Yes to Fringe text. If you did a tilted perspective view then the Fringe text would look pretty cool I think.

the mesh is a 2048 subdivided displacement map
2050x2050 grid ( 4,202,500 vertexes) so with UV mapping it is 604 Meg
not really all that big
this is also only HALF resolution each vertex equals a group of 4 pixels on the DEM

It's looking good.
You kind of visually lose some of the rivers in there.
Do you plan to do any color adjustment?
Just some way to get a bit more clarity on the rivers might help.
edit - this would look really good rendered in Vue or Terragen.

Awesome work so far; I really love the intricacy of this. I'm with J.Ed on the rivers though, it's really hard to make out details on some of them, especially around the Mouths of the Entwash.
not forgotten just busy
