I'm pretty stoked to see the Basilisk Cannon. I imagine some really ornate version of one of those big pieces from The Guns of Navarone.

I have a little trouble parsing the elevation change around the Power Wheels (another illustration I'm excited to see). Maybe a more gradual taper like you have north of Terra Ceia Bay? The turbulence in the river is well-rendered, but it doesn't seem to fit with what's happening on the banks.

The shadows in the cemetery seem a bit out of scale with the other buildings in the city, but that might just be representing something I haven't recognized yet.

This is going to be amazing! Well, it already is but, amazinger.

*wanders off to make notes about a creepy cemetery where the shadows are longer than everywhere else…

Ok Meshon, you caught me cheating on the cemetery plots, I'll work on that. I had the water wheels further up the river, but cropped the map and wanted to keep the water wheels, I'll work on the cliffs there as well. The Basilisk Cannon was a nice find in doing research on Medieval weaponry - I'd like to illustrate a bunch of these weapons or maybe a castle wall showing how the weaponry was used. Thanks for the compliment and comments, I've been out on vacation so hopefully I'll have time coming up to get back at this.

    Wip Anna Maria Port City

Worked on the cemetery, more activity on the boat landing, some secondary roads, the Water Wheel is hopefully more realistic now, added a viaduct leading to the castle and town and started a couple of the illustrations of the elements. AnnaMaria08-01.jpg

Is the water wheel supposed to function a bit like a Noria and feed the aqueduct?

Great work snodsy! I really like the overall layout of the city. I love port cities (...like many people i guess ) and you made a particularly lovely one here. The colour palette is wonderful, although i liked the more saturated green at the start too. The new Whater Wheel looks very cool.

Thanks for the comments, yes the water wheel would be a Noria (thanks for the education) which feeds the aqueduct, at the end of the line there is a deep well, the water is then underground to the city well and the castle well - not sure if this would be realistic? Just thought the aqueduct should not breach the fortress walls, which would be a weak point in the fortress. Not really happy yet with the two illustrations I've done.

I only see a problem with them beeing partly a bit too pixelated and having different "styles" (the lighthouse hand drawn the gate tower mainly not). Besides this, both look very nice for themself! Like Meshon, i'm also curious about the Basilisk Cannon . Keep up the good work!

This is looking really good! Not much else to say except that I'm really enjoying watching it come together.

Added the icons - did them in Adobe Illustrator, I feel so much more comfortable drawing icon there. Added a fishing village outside the Gates of Cortez. Probably work on the layout a little more, but almost finished, thanks for all the comments, more welcome.

You did a great job on the icons snodsy, and a good choice doing them with illustrator, they look very neat! The fine ornaments on the basilisk cannon are fantastic.
