fun AND something that is needed

all the maps of the planet Saturn are MORE than a few years OLD . They are from the Saturn southern summer when the north was COLD!!!! and BLUE - really it was blue

well it is now becoming summer in the north and winter in the south and the SOUTH is now turning Blue

this means the map needs updating

PDS ( the Planetary Data System ) takes about 6 months to a year for data to be released
so now the fun part
turning a set of photos like this from April of 2014 ( taken over two days )

into this ( TESTING run , not finale )
a simple cylindrical map from -180 to +180 and 90 north to -17 south

The Cassini spacecraft takes black and white images using 24 color filters
but only a very fer are using the color photo red , and blue ( green is used a lot )
