Great Maps

This isn't really a general discussion, I just wanted to share a book of maps called Great Maps, published by the Smithsonian. It goes through a history of mapping with tons of neat examples beginning with Classical Maps to the Age of Discovery to Modern Mapping. Its an incredible collection of maps with excellent descriptions of each. I am fortunate to have a wife that knows me so well to put this little gift under the Christmas tree.

I never heard of such a book....but the premise seems more than promising
